The Challenge

A global thought leadership company was facing declining morale among its team members. The leadership struggled to transition the team from focusing on in-person learning and networking events to embracing new digital services and CRM plans. The team felt stressed and disenchanted, perceiving senior management's requests as arbitrary and lacking direction. In fact, some individuals even contemplated forming their own competitor companies.

The Approach

When the company sought our assistance, they initially believed creating a new website would address morale issues. However, we recognized that the root cause lay deeper: senior leaders needed to articulate a compelling Mission & Vision to inspire the team. We facilitated a series of one-on-one, small group, and large group workshop meetings to delve into the core values and aspirations of the organization. Through this collaborative process, we developed a Mission & Vision that unified and energized the team. Once the Mission & Vision were established, we developed company-wide, functional, and individual goals, revamped the performance management process and furnished changes to the organizational structure.

The Result

By undertaking this organizational transformation encompassing Mission & Vision development, organizational planning, goal alignment, functional team goals, individual goals, roles and responsibilities clarification, hiring strategy, interviewing, and change management, the thought leadership company experienced significant positive outcomes. The team members gained a clear line of sight on how their work contributed to achieving financial goals and customer success. Increased delegation and autonomy for senior leaders allowed for greater focus and productivity while paving the way for succession planning. With a renewed sense of purpose and direction, the company developed a new CRM and pricing strategy, established a new sub-brand architecture and website, and created a professional association thought leadership publication and content marketing strategy. This comprehensive transformation revitalized the organizational culture, fostering motivation, collaboration, and long-term success. The CEO was able to increase delegation and had a roadmap for succession planning.
